About Me
My name is Gary Maddison and I
am the principle hypnotherapist My interest in hypnosis started about 18 years ago after watching a live hypnosis show. I then bought many books on the subject and even began to use self-hypnosis to increase my self-confidence. After leaving school I joined the military and became a proud member of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). I spent a number of years in the army and only left because my son at that time had a medical condition which meant he had to have regular check ups at Leeds General Infirmary. During my years in the army I had carried on using self hypnosis and I had even helped a number of people to stop smoking. So when I left I decided that a career in hypnotherapy was the path that I wanted to take. I studied many courses on hypnosis all of which taught a different approach to change. From this I then came up with my own style of hypnosis and began to help people make change in their lives. One of the important lesson that I learnt from my time in the army which at the time I didn't know would help me to design a weight management course was that if something is not working then change your approach. Another important thing I learnt was the more you know then the easier it is to adapt. This is the mentality that lead me to design a weight management program which I believe is far different from anything else on the market. When I began to learn everything I could on weight management one of the things that I discovered was that most approaches to weight management are static. Which means that the person in order to become successful at achieving their weight goals as to change to fit the approach. This way of thinking goes against everything that I learnt during my time in the army so I knew that there must be a different way. I carried on learning more about weight management and discovered that the best way for a person to gain control over their weight is for them to change from the inside. This fitted perfectly with my military background so I knew instantly that I was on to something major. I began to apply this approach to my weight clients and the results increased dramatically. My clients began to tell me that it just felt natural for them to have a healthy relationship with food and exercise. From this I then developed a weight management program which is not only flexible but is also about changing a person from the inside out. Hence the term, 'The Inside Out Approach To Weight Loss'.
